Course description
To undertake this course participants must possess advanced expertise in electrical engineering and hold technical responsibility for ensuring the operational readiness and electrical safety of charging infrastructure systems. They should be qualified to carry out testing and measurement procedures in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., DIN VDE, IEC) and legal requirements, thereby guaranteeing standard-compliant functionality and the safe, reliable operation of charging equipment, including associated cables and wiring systems.

Design and safety requirements for EV charging cables
Charging modes, plug types, coding of charging cables
Communication between charging device, charging cable and vehicle
Personal protection through RCD (residual current device) and RCM (residual current monitoring
Installation and design of charging stations
Electrical protection measures against electric shock
Testing of various vehicle conditions and charging currents in accordance with DIN VDE 0122-1
Inspection of electric charging stations
Testing of electrical charging cables and mobile charging solutions (IC-CPD, ICCB, mobile charging solutions)
Charging cable types (Type 1, Type 2, Type 3)
Resistance coding of charging cables
Proof of inspection, documentation, logging
Practical exercises on loading equipment, simulators, and measuring devices
Requirements
No formal prior knowledge required.
Certification
Each participant who successfully pass the assessment will receive a certificate. This certificate contains the following information:
- Name of participant
- Title of qualification
- Training content
- Duration of training course
This certificate is relevant to prove the correct qualification to the employers’ liability insurance association or the employer.
Validity
The instruction should be repeated at regular intervals. According to DGUV Regulation 1, refresher training should be given at least once a year.
